Richard Lawrence Bennett is a writer from Arundel, England. He has written three collections of short stories, for which he is seeking representation from a literary agent. His individual short stories have been published in Ambit Magazine, Best British Short Stories 2020, Dawntreader Magazine and Every Day Fiction.
Richard was born in Prague, Czech Republic, to British parents and educated at boarding school in England. He took a degree in Classics at Bristol University before going to India in search of the mystical and magical. He has worked as a civil servant in London and as an English teacher in Japan.
He is interested in literature, mysticism and psychogeography (the effect of the urban environment upon the individual). He enjoys pubs and long city walks, has a first dan in the martial art Kendo and is a member of CAMRA, the Philosophical Society of England and the Victorian Society.
